What are the Connection Groups exactly?
The Connection Groups are a 6-week facilitated online program for mums whose partner works away (FIFO, offshore, defence, aviation, etc). Each week covers a different topic, from the home/away cycle to communication, self-care, and resentment. It's part education, part support group, part honest conversation. Facilitated by Larissa via Zoom in small, intimate groups.
Is this therapy?
No. While Larissa is a registered psychologist (AHPRA), the Connection Groups are a peer-support program, not group therapy or individual psychological treatment. If you need individual support, Larissa can help point you in the right direction.
My partner doesn't work in mining. Is this still for me?
Absolutely. While "FIFO" is most commonly associated with mining, our community includes families across aviation, defence, maritime, trucking, and any job that takes a parent away from home regularly. The challenges are remarkably similar regardless of the industry.
